When you take your dog on vacation in the mountains, it’s important to behave responsibly to ensure his safety and that of others. Here’s some advice on how to behave, and a list of suitable service providers and activities.

Some areas, such as the Saisies peat bog (see below), may have strict rules concerning dogs, particularly when it comes to hiking trails or protected areas.
Keep your dog on a leash
In most places, it’s compulsory to keep dogs on a leash. This helps prevent conflicts with local wildlife and protects your dog from dangers such as precipices, wild animals or busy roads.
Respect the environment
Make sure your dog does not damage mountain flora or fauna. Don’t let your dog dig, hunt or disturb wild animals. Pick up your dog’s faeces and dispose of them in the appropriate places.
La RNR de la tourbière des Saisies has its own regulations. Its aim is not to prohibit all activities, but only to regulate those that have the greatest impact on the natural environment. As a result, you are asked to not leave the designated trails and to keep your dog on a lead. Even the most obedient of dogs can set off in pursuit of wild animals and disrupt the peace and quiet of the area.
