Cross-country skiing Nordic Ski Area
Les Saisies

Les Saisies Nordic Ski Area: the go-to destination for cross-country skiing with a view of Mont Blanc!

Les Saisies Nordic Ski Area is renowned as one of the largest in France, with 120 km of trails and a ‘Site d’excellence 4 sapins’ accreditation from Nordic France. Thanks to its high altitude, it boasts some of the best snow cover in the Alps, whilst remaining very easy to reach – just 1 hour 30 minutes from Annecy, 1 hour 15 minutes from Chambéry, 1 hour 40 minutes from Geneva and 2 hours 15 minutes from Lyon.

From 11 November 2026, the “Stade Nordique” run will be open all year round thanks to snowmaking. The rest of the ski area will open depending on snow conditions, allowing you to enjoy skiing in a natural setting amongst forests and unspoilt landscapes, for a magical skiing experience suitable for all ability levels.

In 1992, the resort hosted the cross-country skiing and biathlon events at the Albertville Olympic Games, contributing to its reputation as a leading destination for Nordic skiing.

Words from champions

An exceptional training ground awarded the ‘4 Sapins Site of Excellence’ label by Nordic France, the Les Saisies ski area is the birthplace of champions who bring international acclaim to the resort. It was here, at the Club des Sports, that biathletes Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (from Hauteluce, Olympic champion in 2022 and five-time world champion) and Julia Simon (from Villard-sur-Doron, triple Olympic champion in 2026 and ten-time world champion), whose names now grace two of the ski area’s runs.
This tradition of excellence continues with Karl Tabouret, Paralympic cross-country skiing champion in 2026, and Thémice Fontaine, who triumphed at the 2026 Junior World Biathlon Championships.

A family holiday or a sports holiday: the perfect balance between cross-country and downhill skiing

In Les Saisies, there’s no need to choose – the resort is ideal for combining cross-country and downhill skiing and is suitable for all ability levels. Linked to the 200 km of slopes in the Espace Diamant, between Beaufortain and Val d’Arly, it offers a variety of activities with breathtaking views of Mont Blanc!
