A remarkable siterare and protected species
The Tourbière des Saisies is an exceptional natural site: extending over 500 ha between 1550 and 1718 m altitude, it is the largest acidic peat bog in the Alps. It is home to rare environments and numerous protected species of flora and fauna. Since July 11, 2013, it has been classified as a regional nature reserve, complementing its status as a natural area of European interest (Natura 2000).
