The nuggets of Les Saisies

The Arpelières trail

A wild interlude

In Les Saisies, there are places that are like nothing else. The Arpelières trail is one such place. A little world of its own, full of gentle contrasts, nestling in the heart of the Les Saisies peat bog, a designated regional nature reserve.

Les Saisies seed

Hi, I'm Pépin. I know Les Saisies like the back of my hand. I love nature, I really do. Not just for the photos, but for what it whispers when you take the time. My thing? Finding treasures. And above all, sharing them.

A walk like no other

Among the natural treasures of Les Saisies, the Arpelières trail offers a unique experience. Here, at an altitude of 1,650 m, nature has fashioned a rare landscape. It’s not for nothing that this wild corner is known as “Little Lapland”. A cool climate, soft light, discreet biodiversity… and a timeless atmosphere.

The Arpelières trail is a gentle way to discover the area. You’ll move at your own pace, between wooden footbridges that float above the wetlands, narrow forest paths and pools teeming with life.

At every turn, a new setting. The calm of the water, the dragonflies dancing in the heat of the day, the waving cottongrass… And for those who like to observe, there’s a wooden hut where you can sit discreetly and admire the scenery and wildlife, and perhaps catch a glimpse of one of the bog’s inhabitants.

Course

The Arpelières trail is a breath of fresh air, an immersion in a discreet and precious world, just a stone’s throw from the resort. Whether you’re on your own, with the family or with a guide, you’ll want to keep your eyes wide open…

There are two possible loops:

A 1.8 km loop from Covetan
A 1.2 km loop from the route de la Palette
A 600 m section links the two routes for those who want to go all the way round.
👟 Difficulty: easy(not suitable for pushchairs)
🌳 Shady route, pleasant even in hot weather
