26th Pisten Bully Challenge

French snow groomer operators are set to compete in the Beaufortain region. From March 23 to 25, 2027, in Les Saisies, the 26th PistenBully Challenge will give enthusiasts of extraordinary machinery the chance to see up close and in action professionals and rare machines, as well as to celebrate a profession unlike any other—one passionately dedicated to sustaining life and the economy of our mountains: snow groomer operators. In the mountain community, the PistenBully National Snow groomer Operators’ Challenge is a biennial highlight—a true classic. Over the years, this event has indeed established itself as THE must-attend gathering for ski slope professionals from all the French and Andorran mountain ranges. Combining a competitive spirit, the sharing of experiences, and technical discussions, this Challenge showcases the expertise of more than a hundred snow groomer operators, their often impressive skill behind the wheel of their machines, by offering them the opportunity to represent their resort in competitions that are certainly friendly but always fiercely contested and of the highest caliber, under the watchful eye of a volunteer jury of some thirty ski area specialists. Beyond sporting rivalry and national pride, the PistenBully Challenge serves as a true forum for discussing major changes in the industry. From innovative powertrains to the challenges posed by managing an increasingly unpredictable snowpack, there is no shortage of timely topics that fuel enriching discussions among experts. For the general public, who are often unaccustomed to seeing these machines in action, the event is also a rare spectacle. Snow groomers, usually confined to working in the dead of night, become the stars of the day, fascinating young and old alike with their power and precision. It’s worth noting that this year, the snow groomers will run on HVO fuel to reduce their carbon footprint by 90%.
