mini adventure #3 The Palette plateau Gourmet escape

Marie and I can’t get enough of the sunshine. And today the conditions are ideal for setting off on a crossroads: discovering the Palette plateau, with its unique panorama of Mont Blanc, the Beaufortain massif and the Aravis mountain range.

Cyril and Marie

We're Cyril and Marie! We hit the slopes in winter on ski touring skis, on foot, on snowshoes and in summer with good trail shoes. And we never fail to share our good tips.

Passionate about
  • The mountain
  • Skiing
  • Chops braised in beer

Imagine yourself in a snow-covered landscape as far as the eye can see, with only the soft sound of your snowshoes or the whistle of your skis as you hurtle down the slopes. That’s the atmosphere on the Palette plateau, my friend! And believe me, it’s worth every step, even if you have to walk 6 kilometres round trip to get there. But hey, who said fun was easily accessible?

On skis, on foot or on snowshoes The Palette is nice!

The Palette is a logistical accessory used to carry goods… but in Les Saisies it’s above all a must-do walk with a view of Mont-Blanc served up on a platter. On foot, skis or snowshoes, the Palette is fun!

On foot

Duration: 2h30Distance: 6.4 km
Difference in altitude: +200 mItinerary: Return journey

From the Col des Saisies head towards the right of the Signal and the Chalet Nordique. Take the footpath on the right behind the Nordic chalet. Enjoy the northern atmosphere as you climb towards the Palette plateau. When you reach the plateau, continue on to the Bergerie and enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Mont Blanc and the Haute-Savoie mountains. Return to the resort along the same route. When you reach the Chalet Nordique, turn right.
WARNING! CROSS-COUNTRY SKI TRAILS ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN TO PEDESTRIANS.

A ski

Put on your downhill skis and get ready for an adventure that will shake your skis and make your edges dance! Climb aboard the Bisanne chairlift and let yourself be carried away to summits of pure white happiness.
To reach the Palette plateau, you can choose between the red Écureuil piste for the bold or the blue Chevreuils.

Cross-country skiers can take one of the 3 trails up to the plateau.

Flo and Yoa's We're like kings :-)

Marie's advice

Reservations are highly recommended for lunch at the Bergerie de la Palette!

And in summer?

The plateau is accessible in summer to hikers and mountain bikers (electric bike recharging point – reserved for guests) via the footpath from Les Saisies. Note that the Tour du Beaufortain joins this trail just before the Bergerie before heading into the Bisanne forest.
