The Coopérative laitière du Beaufortain is an agricultural cooperative based in Arêches-Beaufort, in the heart of the Beaufortain region. It specialises in the production of Beaufort cheese, a famous pressed cooked cheese typical of the region.

The cooperative was founded in 1966 by a group of local farmers keen to preserve and promote the traditional production of Beaufort. Today, it is made up of more than 250 cow’s milk producers, who are all shareholders in the cooperative.

The milk collected from local producers is processed on site in the cooperative’s cheese dairies. The production process follows traditional methods, including slow cooking and careful pressing of the cheese wheels. The Beaufort produced by the cooperative is renowned for its quality and authentic taste.
