La Coopérative laitière du Beaufortain is an agricultural cooperative located in Arêches-Beaufort, in the heart of the Beaufortain region. It specializes in the production of Beaufort cheeses, a famous pressed cooked cheese typical of the region.

The cooperative was founded in 1966 by a group of local farmers concerned with preserving and promoting traditional Beaufort production. Today, it is made up of over 250 cow’s milk producers, who are all shareholders in the cooperative.

Milk collected from local producers is processed on site in the cooperative’s cheese dairies. The production process follows traditional methods, including slow cooking and careful pressing of the cheese wheels. The Beaufort produced by the cooperative is thus recognized for its quality and authentic taste.
